The Movie Essentials Group meets monthly for social evenings and discussion of a selected movie that participants have viewed previously.
This month the group will discuss The Trial of the Chicago 7, a 2020 courtroom drama based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the US government with conspiracy and more, following the countercultural protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The trial transfixed the nation and sparked a conversation about mayhem intended to undermine the U.S. government.that can be seen to also have present-day relevance.
Hosted by John and Hilda Wiens, the discussion will begin at 7:00, but the Zoom link will be active by 6:45 to allow social interaction before the discussion. For more information contact Joan Spencer or Jane Martin.
